Every honest hearted American, whether a burning patriot or just an interested
good citizen, wants what is
right for family, the entire country, even the world. Yet in the last 50 years,
and especially in the latest 10 years, we have failed to confront an
evil so
sneaky that it has convinced too many of us to vote against
our own well being. This evil, a form of greed run riot, is represented in our politics by the Republican party,
also known as the GOP, an acronym for Grand Old Party, or, as I like to
say, The Greedy Old Party. If you are a Christian, you can think
of the GOP as the party for MAMMON. This tiny group of super wealthy Americans would never have been allowed to
gain power unless it was hidden. It will only be able to keep power if
allowed to continue fooling us by donning a white hat and pretending to stand for
"real American values" or even "Christian values,"
or "freedom." Mammon, or corporate greed, represented by the Republican
party (and some democrats) and their dupes, the Tea Parties, are now crawling with governors, congressmen, and senators who have sold themselves to
the corporate wealthy for now unlimited campaign contributions, which
translates to power.
This is not a conspiracy theory. The
movements of the Republican party over the last 10 years and
their own words spoken in unguarded moments prove that we are now in the midst
of these events which will lead to the breakdown of American Society into a
third world
In some ways we have been too
innocent. While we have not forgotten what our forbears worked so hard and died
for, most Americans today have never had to experience the result of greed and power run riot.
Most of us do not believe such could even exist in America. Many of us can't imagine ever being blocked from freedom of
speech, blocked from voting or banished from the country, dying from
lack of medical care, dying in work accidents, ourselves and our
children working around the clock for simply enough to eat and to pay
the rent. Perhaps these are some of the reasons why we have slowly allowed
those who represent concentrated wealth to gain control of not only our government,
but also most of the American wealth, and subvert us into a country ruled by a few
corporate families. Let me show some recent history of how this
has been done:

Republicans are trying hard to convince the public we must cut spending to tackle the deficit. But if Republicans cared about the deficit, they would have been willing to allow the Bush Tax cuts, which, along with 2 wars, produced the deficit, to expire as it should have in 2010. Also, if they really wanted to cut the deficit, they would campaign to end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Tiny middle class. People in general, especially in the cities,
were either poor or wealthy.
Pseudo-Slavery similar to the plight of

Republicans used to be Progressive
The GOP likes to claim Abraham Lincoln for themselves, but the parties
have greatly evolved since Lincoln's day. In fact, Lincoln was a member of
the party called the Whigs, but as he was running for president that party
dissolved and became the Republican party. The southern aristocracy,
who wanted to keep their riches off the backs of slaves, were
Democrats.
The former southern slave holder class
are now Republican, and though they will deny their backward traditions of
racism & exploitation, they still show who they are. For instance, take a look at the favorite symbols of Republicans
such as the Confederate flag. Note how they love to hold civil war
re-enactments and still recognize Jefferson Davis as some kind of hero,
when they really should be deeply ashamed of him.
Today the Republican party is filled
with conservatives rather than progressives.
Democrats used to be conservative.
From pre-civil war days, democrats were mainly located in the South, and
this tradition continued even through the 1970's. They were
conservative. Today, only liberals or moderates join the Democratic
party. If People like George Wallace and other dead southern democrats
were alive today, they would be Republicans or even tea party members. For instance, Haley
Barbour, an
admirer of the KKK, is a Republican. The old southern Democrats
who started the civil war have been replaced. Politicians like Rick Perry,
Rick Scott, Marcus Rubio, Jan Brewer now carry on the conservative
tradition , which has become even more Corporatist and more extreme.
Meanwhile, the democratic party has evolved
through the years to embrace a liberal, or progressive agenda that serves
to protect the working class in America.

Corporate Taxes, Increasing Burden on Working Families
This
is happening now. But millionaires who are true patriots work against these tax
cuts because they see the need for the U.S. to recover fiscal strength. See Patriotic

What will the Republicans do
Next?
1. Disenfranchise voters who tend
to vote for Democrats
When I first wrote these predictions about
the unfolding of the Republican plan, they had not yet passed laws en masse to stop people from
voting. I based the prediction on this article: In New Hampshire, William
O'Brien, Rep Speaker of the House made
a bid to disenfranchise liberal college students for tending
to be liberal. He did not make any pretense that restrictions on voters
were to prevent voter fraud, the GOP's usual lie. He said college students are
"foolish....They just vote with their feelings. Voting as
a liberal, that's what kids do."
Did anyone think this could ever happen?
And yet, corporations backing right wing extremist Sharron Angle for Senator
of Nevada in 2010
attempted to keep Latinos from the polls. Fortunately for all of us, Sharron
Angle lost to Harry Reid.
In other southwestern states, disenfranchisement
is being
attempted by introducing legislation requiring ID for those showing up at polls
to vote. Other Republican-held states are following
suit.
2. Repeal Child Labor
Laws
Child
labor laws are being rolled back in several states.
The GOP's
euphemism for this policy is "right to work" when they really
just want to reduce what corporation must
pay their employees.
Eventually, if we allow them
to completely destroy the middle class and remove all safety nets like
Social Security, Medicare & food stamps, adults
will have to work for much less. in order to feed themselves.
3. Repeal
minimum wage.
The goal of repealing the Federal
minimum wage laws is rarely talked about because the public can't know that
Republicans want this. Suspending the minimum wage is called "right
to work" law within states suffering under Republican legislatures. Such laws, if passed, will serve the GOPs corporate masters, who will no
longer have to travel all the way to China or India to get cheap, near-slave
labor. But ever the blabbermouth, Michele Bachmann proudly proclaimed that the
minimum wage should be lowered to match the cost of labor overseas. She
also thinks teenagers
should pay corporations to be allowed to work for them and gain
experience.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Subjugate Women.
Corporatist realize that in order to get ordinary hard working
people to vote for their candidates, they have to appeal to their core
emotions such as religious beliefs, attitudes towards women, race and desire for
justice. To do so they will scapegoat others. Paul Ryan and the infamous Claude
Akin, the congressman who exposed Republican Party's anti-freedom
sentiment--when it comes to women that is--thinks women who are raped should
have to carry their unwanted pregnancy, Already many states with tea party
extremists who filled state offices in 2008 have adopted laws that make it more
difficult for women who chooses to end her pregnancy safely to be free to do
so. If you watch any TV news, internet news, or read newspapers you know
if the Republicans ever take the Senate and have Mitt Romney as president, there
will be nothing to stop them from completely removing a woman's right to choose
abortion via Constitutional amendment. This is not a theory, the Republican
party has already adopted this amendment as part of their platform* Republican Platform Panel Backs Blanket Ban on Abortion There
is already much documented proof of Republican goals to curtail the
freedom of women. not only in reproductive decisions, but equal pay for equal
work and tough domestic violence and rape laws. Here are some articles giving
more info: The Campaign Against Women Why
Mitt Romney as President Would Be a Disaster for Women Republicans Block the Violence Against Women Act 5. Bring Back Debtor's
Prisons
Welcome
to Debtor's Prison, 2011 Edition More
than a third of all U.S. states allow borrowers who can't or won't pay to
be jailed. At this time, the GOP criticizes these arrests, because many
such arrests involve IRS, Student Loan Defaults, and other ways the
Federal government enforces laws to get money for government, which #GOP
says they hate. But eventually, they hope, "right to work" laws
will impoverish more Americans, and some of these people will simply stop paying
their bills. Yet the
credit industry MUST keep cash coming their way.
Eventually, the GOP will see too it that not paying your bills will lead
to arrest and jail time. And guess where that jail time will be spent? You
got it--private prisons. That's how such Americans will generate more $$ for the
rich. Wait and watch. I hope it doesn't get that bad,
but at this time, it's almost too late. Remember these these
words.
*As a Christian, I do not like abortion, though the Bible makes
no mention of it except to say, in Jewish law, that if a man, through violence,
hurts a woman so that she miscarries, he get put to death only if the fetus has already
quickened. Exodus 21:22-23 In other words, according to the Bible, God does not
consider the fetus a full human soul until the mother can feel the fetus move
within her. In even other words--it's up to the mother. There are
Christians who, of course, argue that this is not how the law was interpreted,
and I have no criticism of them. Nevertheless, I doubt Christianity has a place
in forcing women to carry unwanted pregnancies. |
